A Note From Our Founder
Hi, I’m Katie.
I’m going to be straight with you, mostly because I don’t know how to be anything else.
I didn’t plan to build a marketing agency. I need flixibility to take care of my kid and still pay the mortgage. I taught for ten years. My son has cystic fibrosis, and it turns out hospital stays and treatment schedules don’t care about lesson plans. Teaching couldn’t bend. Marketing could.
So I jumped.Twelve years later, I’m still here. I spent most of those years at agencies marketing roofers, contractors, HVAC, and water treatment companies.
These were businesses with zero glossy branding and zero patience for marketing that only works when it looks pretty. That’s where I learned what actually moves the needle. I once took the least sexy water treatment company you can picture and doubled its revenue. No rebrand. No influencer moment. Just strategy.
I also learned what this industry gets wrong. Agencies sell the same template to a dentist and a plumber. They upsell before they’ve diagnosed anything. They throw ad spend at problems ad spend can’t fix. They sign clients, then disappear. They build websites the client doesn’t even own.
And I learned what it’s like to be a woman in that room. I got talked over. My ideas got repeated back to me by a man, who then got credit for them. Then one day, mid-pitch at a networking event, the CEO of a roofing company stopped me to ask what kind of lingerie I wear for my husband. Not one question about the strategy. I didn’t have a perfect comeback. What I had was clarity.
A year later, Brandville existed.
